Tikka Masala

Delicious tender chicken strips marinated in yogurt and lemon with curry mix. Barbecue or Bake in the oven. Simple and easy directions included.

Medium Heat – for mild, use half the package contents.

  • Mix contents of TIKKA MIX, 1 cup PLAIN YOGURT*, juice of half a LEMON and 1 teaspoon SALT in a bowl. Stir.  Add 2 lbs. CHICKEN (LAMB OR BEEF) cut in cubes. Coat chicken evenly. Marinate for 3 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Thread marinated chicken on BAMBOO SKEWERS (pre-soaked in water). Barbeque on medium heat.  Cook for 15 to 20 minutes turning skewers occasionally or till chicken pieces are cooked.
  • OR bake in 375°F oven.  Place marinated chicken in baking dish and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or till chicken pieces are fully cooked.
*For non-dairy recipe, omit yogurt and replace with a tbsp of olive oil 

Ingredients: crushed garlic, turmeric powder, coriander, cumin, black pepper, red chillie powder, star anise, white pepper, cloves, cinnamon bark and cardamom.
